Suppression within science has come to an inevitable high. There is, unfortunately, daunting thoughts of where science will be within the next decade or so. So much has been censored recently to due to the executive orders that had been signed, which have sadly costed the jobs of many scientists and censorship of certain vocabulary such as “gender”. When will the fire be put out before it is erupted into a bigger flame for the viability of science?

Each and every day, science has become more silenced and suppressed than it has been before after the second term of presidency for Donald Trump. Scientific voices meant to change the world are now shunned and pushed aside, limiting them to what should be said or done in regards to science. These voices are also forcibly crafted in a way that is “acceptable” to the administration, causing censorship and the loss of passion for the subject.
(Since the beginning of Donald Trump’s second term of the president of the United States, he has signed many executive orders that include health, education, environment, and culture. They go as followed:
- Continuing the Reduction of the Federal Bureaucracy (Executive Order #14238): an executive order signed that the president believes are “unnecessary” such as museum and library services.
- Restoring Freedom of Speech and Ending Federal Censorship (Executive Order #14149): an executive order signed to protect ‘freedom of speech’ but only to the president’s design.
- Protecting American Energy From State Overreach (Executive Order #14260): an executive order signed to protect energy sources that will harm climate change.
- Withdrawing the United States From the World Health Organization (Executive Order #14155): an executive order signed to remove the United States from WHO which affects the health administration.
